PARKS and RECREATION

New Bedford is in part characterized by its large and well-maintained parks and public beaches. Several parks and playgrounds can be found in different parts of the city, giving easy access to everyone regardless of the location you live. Brooklawn Park is located at the North end of the city and is considered the largest, with Fort Taber Park, Clark’s Point and Buttonwood Park close behind. Inside the city you’ll find the Buttonwood Zoo that has a lagoon feeding into Buttonwood Brook and the surrounding area.
